Summarizes the characteristics and collaborative development of an inservice teacher education program for an urban high school and reports the findings of the program evaluation. Concludes that success relates, among other factors, to teacher involvement, appropriate instructional techniques, and locally relevant materials. (DC)

This article describes a plan to recruit minority students from a large urban community college into a university-based teacher preparation and certification program. The primary goal of the proposed project is to prepare 30 minority teachers annually. The plan is a response to local and national minority teacher shortages. (IAH)
