Competency-Based Curriculum Guide for Horticulture Using the V-TECS Catalogues. Final Report, Period Covered: September 17, 1979-June 30, 1980.
College of DuPage, Glen Ellyn, IL.
An Illinois project developed competency-based curriculum guides for Gardening/Groundskeeping and Floriculture using the V-TECS (Vocational Technical Education Consortium of States) catalogues. The programs were designed to provide students at the senior high school and two-year college level with entry-level and higher job skills and to provide the state horticulture industry with skilled personnel. Procedures included verification of V-TECS tasks on state level, development of the two V-TECS-based curriculum guides, determination of teaching and evaluation strategies for gardening/groundskeeping and floriculture, identification of teaching resources for both, and development of training and field-test sites. (The curriculum guides are available separately--see Note.) (YLB)
