Analysis of teaching styles of 264 proprietary school instructors in allied health, business, and technical programs revealed a strong preference for teacher-directed instruction, especially in technical programs. Instructors with higher education teacher training and female instructors tended toward a more collaborative mode. (SK)

Adult postsecondary students (n=322) completed the Gregorc Style Indicator. The concrete sequential style predominated; 43% had dominance in two styles; there were slight differences among the program areas of business, health occupations, and trade and industrial education. (SK)
