An opinion is offered of the Millis Commission report on pharmacy. Two major areas are considered: levels of pharmacy practice and roles for clinical pharmacy practice. The types and amount of exposure that pharmacy students receive in the discipline of law were surveyed by reviewing catalogs and bulletins from the 71 U.S. colleges of pharmacy. Legal electives, law and ethics, course content, and a national jurisprudence exam are discussed. (LBH)

Research in college admissions, school effectiveness myths, and the questionable relationship between education practices and life beyond the classroom are examined. It is recommended that schools of pharmacy should support curriculum experimentation and conduct research on the effectiveness of their efforts. (LBH)

The AACP Council of Faculties, to insure its position as a contributor in pharmaceutical education, should support a comprehensive study of the following: teaching/teacher evaluation; curriculum evaluation; evaluation of admissions and student achievements; and policies of teacher promotion, tenure grant, and salary.
