Radin, Norma; Goldsmith, Rena – Merrill-Palmer Quarterly, 1985
In a follow-up study of paternal involvement in childrearing, it was found, as hypothesized in terms of role theory, that families in which fathers had been the principal caregiver showed least stability in child care arrangements. Also, sex differences and parental attitudes were indicative of varying amounts of paternal involvement in child…

Glasberg, Beth A.; Harris, Sandra L. – Child & Family Behavior Therapy, 1997
Parents and grandparents of children with autism, between the ages of 36 months and 78 months, evaluated the children's adaptive functioning. Parents (n=64) rated their four- and five-year-old children's positive and negative behaviors so as to investigate interparent agreement. Hendy, Lesley; Whitebread, David – International Journal of Early Years Education, 2000
Structured interviews were conducted to examine how teachers, parents, and 3- to 7-year-olds perceive independent learning. Major findings suggest that children's abilities to think and act independently are underestimated by teachers, particularly for children at the older end of the age range studied. Children became more teacher dependent…
