A series of item analyses of the Concept Assessment Kit Conservation (Goldschmid) conducted for a sample of educable mentally retarded children showed that the probability of a correct response differed from task to task. Compared the derived mental age (MA) of the Stanford-Binet to the test age (TA) of the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children (Revised) in 100 children. A 76-item test of intellect-related personality traits was developed and administered to 46 gifted 13 year olds, 51 undergraduates, and 53 seventh and eighth graders. Sutherland, Peter – Educational Studies, 1983
Among a cross-sectional sample of pupils of both sexes in Britain evidence showed accelerations in intellectual development at 7 and 16 years of age. Acceleration at the younger age is a new finding. Age, verbal IQ, teacher's estimate, and social class were all significant predictors of intellectual development. (Author/IS)
