Two purposes of this Child Development Associate (CDA) module are to teach CDA interns the value of woodworking activities in the preschool center and to provide them with information about the needed equipment, materials and supplies. Objectives are stipulated, intern activities for each objective are suggested, and an assessment checklist is provided. Also included are lists of (1) reasons for including woodworking in the preschool program, (2) equipment, materials and supplies needed for a woodworking center, (3) pointers for supervising the woodworking center, and (4) resources for further study.
