Discusses the use of comic strips in teaching. A distinction is made between those books which treat comic strips as an object of instruction (from historical, ideological, semiotic or other stanpoints) and publications which treat comics as a means for improving language teaching.

Informational texts are useful for teaching fundamental linguistic structures, because their stylistic variables can be ignored, and because they provide information about aspects of the world which the student will encounter in literary texts.
