Describes a partially self-instructional program designed to deal with the correction of errors in second language learning. The purpose of the program is: 1) to sensitize future teachers to types of errors that occur in oral language practice, and 2) to help teachers make decisions as to how to correct errors effectively. The degree of teacher control in a language conversation class will determine the success of the class. Beginning language classes seem to require a great deal of control; advanced conversation groups achieve more if sessions are student-run. Describes organization of a one-semester oral/aural skills course which was oriented around the commercially available tape of 25-episode serialized suspense story.
