The Rate Training Manual and Nonresident Career Course (RTM/NRCC) form a self-study package that will enable Aviation Boatswain's Mates F (Fuels) to help themselves fulfill the requirements of their rating. Designed for individual study and not formal classroom instruction, the RTM provides subject matter that relates directly to the occupational qualifications fo the Aviation Boatswain's Mate F (ABF) rating. Subjects presented involve operation, maintenance, and repair of aviation fueling and lubricating oil systems on aircraft carriers and other ships having aircraft aboard. Appended is a section of information on the metric systems and a glossary. Qualifications for advancement are listed followed by the NRCC, which consists of a set of assignments that includes learning objectives and supporting items (questions) designed to lead students through the RTM (which serves as a textbook). By answering the supporting items in the self-scoring test booklet (not included in the document), and following the other described instructions, the student can satisfy the requirements for completing the RTM, (Author/MS)
