The course outline has been prepared as a guide to help the trainee acquire the knowledge and skills associated with the overhaul, inspection, and repair of reciprocating engines. This course is the first of two and must be completed first. Successful completion of these courses and others will provide the trainee with the knowledge and skills required to pass the Powerplant Theory and Maintenance section of the Federal Aviation Administration examination for the powerplant mechanic license. The course is composed of one block of several units requiring one quinmester of 135 hours. Five pages of course outline are followed by 10 pages of specific behavioral objectives; a posttest is appended.
