Jewish studies have split into two camps. The one camp is the ethnic and the other is the academic. The crisis of ethnic studies arose because the ethnics ignored the disciplines of the academy, and because the academy found a way to segregate the ethnics. (MLW)

Issues faced by women seminarians include attitudes of male students and faculty, lack of representation of women on faculty search committees and on the faculty, and restricted opportunities in the church to use their talents and training. The problems are similar for Protestant, Catholic, and Jewish women looking for jobs. (LBH)
