A Centennial Birthday Gift: Resources for Teaching and Celebrating Women's Right to Vote
Social Studies and the Young Learner, v33 n3 p20-23 Jan-Feb 2021
In 2020, the Women's Suffrage Centennial Commission (WSCC) strove "to educate the American people about the efforts and undertakings of the women's suffrage movement in the United States in a nonpartisan fashion." The occasion was the centennial of the Nineteenth Amendment--Women's Suffrage Rights to the U.S. Constitution. This article provides an overview of teaching materials provided by the WSCC for the Nineteenth Amendment, including an online version of a giant mural created by British visual artist Helen Marshall and exhibited in Washington, DC, in 2020.
