Sherry, Martin W. – Journal of Aerospace Education, 1974
Describes a one semester course on the study of aviation for sixth graders in Santa Monica, California involving student timelines, construction plates and field trips. (BR)
Descriptors: Aerospace Education, Aerospace Technology, Course Descriptions, Curriculum
Journal of Aerospace Education, 1975
Presents a resource guide with a broad range of classroom activities and suggested materials for classroom use at the elementary level in the area of careers in airplane transportation. This career development unit seeks to introduce students to different career clusters found in the community and stimulates self evaluation by students. (BR)
Descriptors: Aerospace Education, Career Development, Career Education, Elementary Education

Roy, A. E. – Physics Education, 1977
Proposes practical problems involving the dynamics of rocket and orbital problems for the secondary level physics class. (SL)
Descriptors: Aerospace Education, Instruction, Mechanics (Physics), Physical Sciences

Tomley, Leslie J. – American Journal of Physics, 1979
Presents a theory concerning the orbital spacing of patterns in the solar system. The orbital distributions of the planets and major satellite systems are fitted with a Bode-type form. Accordingly, the Saturnian system requires vacant orbitals if the best fit is to have an accuracy comparable to that of other systems. (Author/GA)

Norris, Don – Journal of Aerospace Education, 1974
Describes an aviation trades training program offered by the Clover Park schools in Washington which exposes students to all facets of the aviation industry from record keeping to air traffic control in addition to the specific skill of piloting the aircraft. (BR)
Descriptors: Aerospace Education, Aircraft Pilots, Aviation Mechanics, Aviation Technology
Jones, Robert M.; Wiggins, Kenneth E. – Journal of Aerospace Education, 1974
Describes 17 activities which are aerospace oriented and yet provide an interdisciplinary approach to learning. Some of the activities described involve paper airplanes, parachutes, model rockets, etc. (BR)
Descriptors: Aerospace Education, Elementary Education, Instruction, Instructional Materials
Jones, Robert M.; Piper, Martha – Journal of Aerospace Education, 1975
Describes how science activities can be used to stimulate language development in the elementary grades. Two aerospace activities are described involving liquid nitrogen and the launching of a weather balloon which integrate aerospace interests into the development of language skills. (BR)
Descriptors: Aerospace Education, Bibliographies, Elementary Education, Elementary School Science
Engle, H. A.; Christensen, D. L. – 1975
Reported is a study to consider the educational uses of the space shuttle/space lab. Several specific tasks were identified and accomplished during the study and the summary addresses itself to five that are considered pertinent: (1) Potential User and Identification; (2) Identification and Analysis of Space Education Programs; (3) Planning…

Reeves, Scott – Journal of Aerospace Education, 1976
Describes a high school geography course in which the class participates in five airplane flights to cover five major areas of local geography. (MLH)
Descriptors: Aerospace Education, Course Descriptions, Field Trips, Geography
Journal of Aerospace Education, 1977
Outlines, as recommended by the Aviation Distributors and Manufacturers Association, a cooperative program between schools and local airports. The Student Airport Tours Program for class and career study groups includes a field trip to an airport, free rides, and follow-up activities. (CS)
Descriptors: Aerospace Education, Aviation Technology, Career Education, Elementary Secondary Education
Jones, Robert M.; Steinbrink, John E. – Journal of Aerospace Education, 1977
Traces contribution to teaching effectiveness and curriculum design, occurring since 1950, and presents a format for modifying the developments made in other disciplines to aerospace education. Included is an example of an inquiry lesson dealing with parachutes. (SL)
Descriptors: Aerospace Education, Curriculum, Curriculum Development, Elementary School Science
Seeds, Fred F. – Journal of Aerospace Education, 1974
Describes an individualized aviation course for high school seniors. The course, broken down into Learner Education Guides with students progressing at their own learning rates, consists of the history of aviation, career opportunities, the space program, basic aeronautics, navigation, meteorology, Federal Aviation Administration regulations and…
