This report describes the University of Wyoming's Portal School Program. The program provides inservice teacher training in science to elementary and secondary school teachers. Teacher workshops are organized so that teachers can explore and learn to implement new curricula in their science classes. The Portal School Program is a joint effort of the University and the public school district. The University is responsible for organizing University resources, establishing portal schools, and training, certifying, and supporting portal leaders; the school district is responsible for providing leadership and financial support, planning and conducting workshops, and assessing portal school progress. Financial support for the portal schools comes from the university, school district, tuition, and the National Science Foundation. (BB)
