The Hanson and Silver Learning Preferences Inventory was completed by 167 human ecology students. The predominant learning style was sensing feeling and introverted. There was a significant relationship between learning style and choice of major. (SK)

Assistance with career goals and employment and positive role models were outcomes identified in interviews with 10 male home economics educators whose mentors were female. Half believed their mentors' expectations were the same for them as for other proteges. They experienced few problems typical of cross-gender mentoring. (SK)

A survey of 138 women faculty in family and consumer sciences found 75.4% satisfied with their jobs. Global job satisfaction was significantly influenced by socialization, climate, autonomy, and financial reward. Social and administrative climate of the institution had the greatest influence. (SK)
