The use of relaxation training in combination with imagery and practice examinations was considered as a treatment for controlling test anxiety among four university students. Subjective reports and state-anxiety scores indicated the treatment was beneficial. (Author)

Mentally ill patients engaging in art activities were seen to recover from their illnesses faster than those not so engaged. An art therapy profession has grown as the result of this observation and incorporates a variety of theoretical orientations ranging from highly educational to highly nondirective and analytic. (JD)

On the basis of questionnaire measures of test anxiety, only those in the rational restructuring condition reported a significant decrease in subjective anxiety when placed in an analogue test-taking situation. Participants in the restructuring condition also reported greater generalized anxiety reduction in social-evaluative situations. (Author)
