A survey of 16 optometry schools shows foreign student enrollment up from 1.1 percent to 2.1 percent of total enrollment between 1977-78 and 1989-90. The study reported surveyed in 1972 the educational aspiration of all high school seniors in Alaska and in 1973 the extent to which goals were realized. Findings showed that most students do not carry out their plans. Alaskan Natives had slightly higher aspirations, but differences in enrollment rates are not as great as expected. (JT)
