Every year, approximately one million students do not finish high school; that number rises to 1.7 million for students of color and lower income students. One of the main reasons cited that students leave school is that they are uninterested in their classes and don't find them relevant to their lives or futures. Educators, students and policymakers alike are recognizing the need to be creative in bringing innovative classroom content to today's students. This article takes a look at one hands-on alternative that is producing results--Roadtrip Nation. Roadtrip Nation began with college students trying to find their way. Today, their green RVs can be seen criss-crossing the nation helping students find their own path, with a curriculum to boot!
