Arch lengths of 413 university football players were measured and compared with 12 types of mouth-formed mouth guards to test conformance with the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) rule. Results reveal that for a majority of players, currently available mouth guards are not large enough to meet the NCAA rule. (Author/MT)
