Plans Beyond High School: A Report of a Statewide Survey of Florida High School Seniors, Fall 1971.
Florida State Board of Regents, Tallahassee.
In the fall of 1971, 83,137 seniors in the public and private high schools of Florida were administered "Plans Beyond High School," a questionnaire containing items relating to their intended course of action subsequent to graduation. The statistical data presented is based on the responses of 78,601 of the students surveyed. As in the past 3 years, 2 out of every 3 students indicated they planned to attend college upon high school graduation, but there was a light drop in the percentage of students who had such plans. Studies reporting the differences between intended plans cited by the high school seniors in the survey and actual courses of action undertaken after graduation revealed that a higher proportion of white students than black students carry through with their plans for entering a college or university.
