Johnson, Richard P.; Stripling, Robert O. – Counselor Education and Supervision, 1984
Surveyed 41 gerontological counseling educators and 253 directors of Area Agencies on Aging to compare their ratings of goals and roles of gerontological counselors. Results showed a wide gap between educators and administrators, but the administrators indicated that counseling can be incorporated into existing aging service networks. (JAC)

Weaknesses of early social work education programs in gerontology and determinants of social workers' ambivalence are analyzed and a new curriculum framework is proposed that would be sensitive to intergenerational transactions and quality-of-life factors.
