Whether graduate students' income sources differ by sex was studied at a large midwestern university on the basis of a stratified random sample. Although there was little evidence of blatant sex discrimination, cultural sex norms may explain differing education choices and patterns that affect income sources. (Author)

Several aspects of Holland's theory of vocational choice are examined using freshman and senior Omnibus Personality Inventory (OPI) and freshman Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) data for 833 men. Male undergraduates (N=35) were divided into three groups on the basis of scores on Mosher's Forced-Choice Guilt Inventory. The amount of time subjects spent viewing and rating photographic slides of varying erotic content was unobtrusively recorded. Results are consistent with a predicted defensive response for high sex guilt subjects. (Author)

A sample of male Investigative subjects (N=171) who completed the SDS as freshmen in 1970 was sent a questionnaire four years later. Results indicated that, for Investigative-type freshman males, the SDS has moderately high efficiency in predicting, four years later, their ultimate major and their immediate and future vocational plans.
