Investigated the relationship between success in student teaching and 13 instruments commonly completed before student teaching and whether the measures predict success in student teaching. The Relationship of Cognitive Style to Academic Achievement of University Art Appreciation Students.

Copeland, Betty D. – College Student Journal, 1983
Examined the relationship between cognitive style and academic achievement in 129 students who completed The Group Embedded Figures Tests. Final evaluation grades were compared to cognitive style. Findings showed students with higher GEFT scores received higher course grades and students with lower GEFT scores received lower course grades. (JAC)

Found that particular college of undergraduate degree was a predictor of problems in orientation, academics, social-personal living-dining, student-activities and placement areas for Nigerian students. A study of Black, Mexican-American, and Anglo college students showed high school grades and Scholastic Aptitude Test scores remain the best predictors of college grades. College grades and college persistence were not related. Racial factors were not strong predictors of persistence, though some cultural variables showed correlations. (JAC)
