In this study of Roe's Occupational Classification, the author first hypothesizes that occupations differ in their perceived statuses. Secondly, he hypothesizes that Roe's eight occupational fields have a similar perceived status; and thirdly, he hypothesizes that there is no interaction effect of fields and levels. (Author)

Helwig, Andrew A. – School Counselor, 1984
Examined high school students' (N=240) awareness of internal vocational information useful in career decision making and examined the effect of a vocational awareness activity. Results indicated tenth graders were unstable in self-perceived internal information relating to career choice. Appendix contains the Vocational Awareness Scale. (JAC)

Post-Kammer, Phyllis – Journal of Counseling & Development, 1987
Invesstigated relationships between intrinsic and extrinsic work values and career maturity for ninth- and eleventh-grade boys (N=402) and girls (N=483). Results revealed that sex differences in work values and career maturity were found to a greater extent than were grade differences. Implications for counselors are discussed. (Author/NB)

Investigated the effect of locus of control on vocational maturity in a sample of Canadian high school students (N=700). Internal personalities scored higher than externals on various vocational maturity aspects. Found developmental aspects of Super's theory of adolescent vocational behavior largely substantiated. Chodzinski, Raymond T. – Canadian Counsellor, 1983
Investigated the Career Maturity Inventory (CMI) using 535 Canadian high school students. As expected, intelligence, grade, and sex were significant predictors of the CMI variables. However, evidence for discriminant validity was unsatisfactory and inconsistent with the theoretical framework of CMI. (JAC)
