Two studies, each conducted with 10 adults with mild to moderately severe hearing loss, compared the effectiveness of custom in-the-ear (ITE) or over-the-ear (OTE) hearing aid fittings. ITE fittings typically yielded speech intelligibilty that was equal to the better OTE fitting. (Author/CB)
