Chapters in the manual cover career preparations as a patternmaker, patternmaking and founding, handtools and woodworking machines, patternmaking structural materials, construction techniques, and shop mathematics. Also included are blueprints and layouts, pattern equipment, cores and core boxes, making and molding a simple parted pattern, constructing a cylindrical pattern and core box, and flanged fittings. Segmental and staved patterns and core boxes, patterns for composite castings, and an index conclude the manual.
