A study was conducted to determine which preprofessional academic and personal characteristics were related to academic and clinical success in a physical therapy program. Neither the academic nor personal characteristics studied were strong predictors of performance in the professional physical therapy educational program. (Author/CT)

The gains in accuracy resulting from applying any of the smoothing methods appear sufficient to justify the suggestion that all expectancy tables used by colleges for admission, guidance, or planning purposes should be smoothed. These methods on the average, reduce the criterion measure (an index of inaccuracy) by 30 percent. (Author/MV)

A regression equation incorporating grade point average (GPA), calculus grade, and grades in two sections of the Pharmacy College Admission Test was significantly more useful than using GPA alone.
