Recall and recognition were tested in adults from each of six age decades. Memory test items occurred long ago. The difference between recall and recognition memory for this type of information was similar for all age groups. Retrieval deficits as a function of age were not observed. (Author/BEF)

Provides normative data on the Bender Gestalt Test (BGT) with a sample of 334 normal older adults. Showed that these older adults do not perform on the BGT in a manner that can be called brain damaged. Use of the cut-off score developed with younger persons appears appropriate. (Author)

Timed and untimed scoring methods were employed with five WAIS subtests administered to 40 young and 40 old subjects matched for verbal intelligence. Elimination of bonuses for rapid performance differentially improved the scores of older subjects but did not raise those scores to levels achieved by the young. (Author)
