Public Education and the Reagan Administration.
Jones, Roger E., Ed.; And Others
To inform educators of the changes in federal educational policy taking place under the Reagan administration, this paper includes comments on education made by participants in a legislative conference held in Washington, D.C. during February 1981. An introductory chapter by the editors summarizes the policy changes that can be expected to take place, as expressed at the conference and in the Heritage Foundation report titled "Mandate for Leadership: Policy Management in a Conservative Administration." The topics covered include budget cuts, deregulation, block grants, civil rights, local and state autonomy, tuition tax credits, vocational education, education for the handicapped, and the status of the Department of Education.
