Gomez-Benito, J.; Forns-Santacana, M. – Psychology in the Schools, 1996
Examines the construct validity of a scale for 7-year-old children and analyzes the degree of factorial similarity between this analysis and another study performed on 4-year-old children. Results indicate that the cognitive abilities measured by the scale become more general with age and the level of schooling. (RJM)

Mok, Mo Ching Magdalena; Flynn, Marcellin – Journal of Applied Measurement, 2002
Studied the dimensionality and construct validity of the School Development Expectation Scale for use with Year 12 students in Australia. Confirmatory factor analysis supported the postulated five-factor model in the validation sample of 8,310 students. The scale was calibrated using the Rasch rating scale, and recommendations were made to refine…

Gold, Yvonne; And Others – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1992
Factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis of the Educators Survey, an inventory to assess teacher burnout, for scores from 133 beginning elementary and secondary school teachers support a 3-factor structure. Gentry, Marcia; Maxfield, Lori R.; Gable, Robert K. – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1998
The dimensionality of students' attitudes toward regular classroom activities and enrichment clusters were studied with 379 urban elementary school students using two instruments developed for the study. Analyses allowed examination of the construct validity of the scores from both measures while indicating that derived factors were not the same…

Sherman, Elisabeth M. S.; And Others – Psychological Assessment, 1995
A 3-factor solution of the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale--Revised (WAIS-R) in 260 adults with suspected head injury suggested relatively good construct validity for the factors, based on correlations with neuropsychological tests. Findings are discussed in terms of the multidimensional nature of neuropsychological tests and WAIS-R factors.…

Casey, Terry – 1992
The Multidimensional Health Locus of Control (MHLC) scales have been used both to evaluate program effects and to assign subjects to treatment modalities. This study explored the construct validity of scores from the MHLC scales when the measure is used with adults who solicit intervention to promote their own health. The MHLC measures health…

Seidman, Steven A.; Zager, Joanne – Educational Research Quarterly, 1987
A 21-item Likert scale to measure teachers' burnout was developed. Factor analysis supported its validity and determined its four subscales: (1) Career Satisfaction; (2) Perceived Administrative Support; (3) Coping with Job-Related Stress; and (4) Attitudes towards Students. Additional analyses indicated good reliability and validity. (Items are…

Tzeng, Oliver C. S.; And Others – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1991
Measurement properties of two response formats (bipolar and unipolar ratings) in personality assessment were compared using data from 135 college students taking the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI). The Child Behavior Checklist (CBCL) is used to assess the behavioral problems and social competencies of children.
