Throughout American history, there has been prejudice, discrimination and violence against religious, ethnic and racial groups. An examination of the ethnic heritage and language schools in the Cleveland area and suggestions of some implications of this phenomenon for the language teaching profession. It is suggested that such ethnic language schools are a valuable resource and should be a responsibility of the profession. (AMH)
