Almost every one of the Vietnamese immigrants in Canada has experienced problems concerning language, weather, life style, housing, schooling, and employment. Despite the stress and strain, however, family ties and some cultural aspects remain strong and many Vietnamese are optimistic about their future as a community in Canada. (Author/EB)

The ways in which Vietnamese, Cambodians, and Laotians now living in Quebec City (Canada) have established over the last 10-15 years distinct ethnic communities are discussed, and their community structure is described.
