Describes a new type of program which was conducted in a group and stressed distinctive techniques as mutual-assistance among job seekers, a "buddy" system, family support, and sharing of job leads. Welfare clients were selected and half were randomly assigned to Job Club program. Of continuing clients, 87 percent obtained jobs. Jobs obtained by Job Club clients were more likely to be enduring, nonsubsidized, and obtained by job-seeker's own efforts. Method appears to assure employment to all participating welfare clients.
