Learning about Africa.
Asante, Molefi Kete
Executive Educator, v14 n9 p21-23 Sep 1992
African Americans are dislocated people whose formal education leads them away from themselves. One way to progress toward a multicultural curriculum is through Afrocentric curriculum. Afrocentricity in education means viewing the African-American as a subject of history not as an object in someone else's experiences. For example, African-American students want to know how Africans fought in the Civil War. (MLH)
