Favero, Jane; And Others – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1975
Scores, hypothesized abilities and Scales on the Lorge-Thorndike Intelligence Tests (LT), Multi-Level Edition, were intercorrelated and factor analyzed to determine overlap of structure-of-intellect (SOI) ability measure, their degree of relationship with LT scales, and the possible presence of second order factors. Gutterman, Jo Ellin; And Others – Journal of Visual Impairment and Blindness, 1985
The Perkins-Binet Test of Intelligence for the Blind, Form U; the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children-Revised (WISC-R), Verbal Scale; and the Wide Range Achievement Test (WRAT) were administered to 52 low-vision children in the third, fifth, seventh, and ninth grades. Results indicated that the mean ten scores on the two tests of intelligence…

Naglieri, Jack A. – Journal of School Psychology, 1984
Examined mean scores and predictive validity coefficients obtained from the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children-Revised (WISC-R), the Kaufman Assessment Battery for Children (K-ABC), and the Peabody Individual Achievement Test (PIAT). All three tests were administered to 35 Navajo children. Results supported general use of the K-ABC with…

Groff, M. G.; Linden, K. W. – American Journal of Mental Deficiency, 1982
Factor scores on the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children-Revised (WISC-R) were compared for two groups (total N=100) of cultural-familial mentally retarded youth (eight- to 11- and 13- to 16-year-olds) and one group of 50 nonretarded youth (eight- to 11-year-olds). (Author/SW)

Sullivan, Patricia M. – American Annals of the Deaf, 1982
Two studies investigated the effects of administration modifications on subtest scaled scores of the Wechsler-Intelligence Scale for Children-Revised (WISC-R). Performance scale rated different groups of 57 severely/profoundly hearing-impaired children. Total communication was found to result in higher scores on all subtests in the genetic and…

Miller, Maurice – Journal of Learning Disabilities, 1980
The author discusses conclusions presented in two artcles by H. Vance et al. titled "Determining WISC-R (Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children-Revised) Profiles for Reading Disabled Children" and "Developing Remedial Hypotheses from Ability Profiles." The validity of five distinct WISC-R profiles for reading disabled…

Wallbrown, Fred H.; And Others – Journal of Learning Disabilities, 1980
The authors reply to M. Miller's concerns regarding their work on Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children-Revised (WISC-R) profiles for reading disabled children. Among the criticisms addressed are those dealing with subject sampling, Ss not fitting into the five WISC-R profiles, and factor analysis procedures used. (SBH)

Miller, Maurice – Journal of Learning Disabilities, 1980
The author responds to rebuttals by F. Wallbrown et al. regarding criticisms of their research on Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children-Revised (WISC-R) profiles of reading disabled children. (SBH)

Naglieri, Jack A. – Perceptual and Motor Skills, 1980
WISC-R subtest profiles were examined for 20 learning disabled and 20 mentally retarded children. The rank order of the WISC-R subtests supports the concept of distinct Patterns for these exceptional children. Correlations between the present samples' subtests patterns and previous findings are also reported. (Author)

Rothlisberg, Barbara A.; McIntosh, David E. – Journal of School Psychology, 1991
Administered Stanford-Binet Intelligence Scale: Fourth Edition and Kaufman Assessment Battery for Children to 40 referred children. Correlation coefficients computed between two tests were strong, suggesting consistency in underlying global construct being measured; however, no compelling evidence supporting theoretical structure of two scales was…

Primrose, Alison F.; Fuller, Mary; Littledyke, Michael – Educational Research, 2000
Stability of verbal reasoning test scores was measured for 146 students aged 8-13. Results suggest that reasoning test scores are not constant and vary considerably over time. Scores are not finite measures of intellectual capacity but of current verbal functioning, reflecting education and experiences to that point. (SK)

Lowrance, Dan; Anderson, Howard N. – 1977
In order to compare the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children--Revised (WISC-R) and the Renzulli-Hartman Scale for Determination of Gifted Placement, 192 potentially gifted elementary students were rated on both tests. A correlation matrix indicated that one of the four subscales of the Renzulli-Hartman Scale, the Learning Characteristics…
