This manual for elementary school teachers provides guidelines for the use of progress report cards in the Long Beach Unified School District, California. Included in the manual are sections dealing with evaluation policy and procedures, descriptions of various progress report cards, interpretations of grades and symbols, instructions for filling out report cards, general suggestions to teachers, and tips for conducting parent conferences. Copies of the several progress report cards used in the District, including pupil self-evaluation forms and forms written in both English and Spanish, are appended. (Author/RH)
