Firkowska, Anna; And Others – Science, 1978
Investigates the contribution of: (1) parental occupation and education, and (2) school and district characteristics to mental performance of 11-year-olds in Warsaw, Poland. Results obtained by using multiple regression analyses showed that mental performance was related only to parental occupation and education. (HM)

In a task designed to separate perceptual processes from memory, reading-disabled 12-year-olds showed no perceptual deficits as compared to their peers. However, they exhibited major deficiencies in memory skills, appearing to suffer from a basic information-processing deficiency. (Author/CS)
