Course Outlines in English of the Rumson-Fair Haven Senior Elective Program.
The Rumson-Fair Haven Senior Elective Program was developed and implemented by students, faculty, and administrators over the three-year period from 1971 to 1974. The program offers high school students who complete graduation requirements in the first three years of the four-year program a combination of the following options for the senior year: minicourse electives, independent study, work experience in the community, and preceptorials. The program is conducted in an open space building with an open campus policy. This brochure contains outlines of minicourses in the English department, listing texts and other bibliographical references and detailing units within the course outlines. Some of the English minicourses are designed to increase reading and writing skills; others are in specialized fields of the humanities such as theater, filmmaking, and radio; and still others focus on particular writings or authors, such as the Bible, Lewis Carroll's novels, and mythology.
