Since physical education and health are generally taught by the classroom teacher in Africa, serious consideration of these areas must be included in teacher education programs. Suggested programs of study, including course content, are presented for physical education, health education, and elementary anatomy and physiology. (JMF)

The weaknesses and shortcomings of the present language programs in African universities are reviewed along with some plans for future development. The design of a course in language and culture is outlined. (JMF)
