This booklet provides a brief description of the cultural background of the Vietnamese, the geography of the country of Vietnam, the history of the Vietnamese people, their language, beliefs, systems of values, religions, customs, feasts, and holidays. The kit is designed to provide American sponsors and teachers with meaningful information about the Vietnamese refugees in order to facilitate understanding and better communication. Suggestions are also provided for dealing with problems arising from the cultural differences between Americans and Vietnamese. (Author/CFM)
