Pomerantz, Michael; Schultz, Charles B. – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1975
Alters two existing achievement motivation tests so that combined forms could be simultaneously administered to a mixed male and female population and so that both instruments could be given to a younger, more heterogeneous group than that represented by college students. Reliability and validity were assessed. (RC)

Landis, Richard E.; Michael, William B. – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1981
For 235 ninth-grade students, intercorrelations of Guilford's structure-of-intellect (SOI) tests and of three measures of critical thinking were factor analyzed. The study reveals the viability of using SOI constructs involving cognition and evaluation of semantic content as likely explanatory components of critical thinking. (Author/AL)

Jensen, Arthur R.; Munro, Ella – Intelligence, 1979
Information processing was measured in terms of reaction time and movement time to stimulus displays which differed in amount of information transmitted. Only reaction time increased as a linear function of number of bits in the stimulus display. Both show individual differences which significantly correlated with intelligence. (Author/RD)

Valencia, Sheila; And Others – 1990
A study was conducted to establish the construct validity of measures designed to assess topical knowledge. Thirty-one ninth-grade students and 44 third/fourth-grade students were interviewed to ascertain their knowledge about 4 topics; 2 weeks later they responded to 3 tests of topical knowledge. Results were analyzed quantitatively and…

West, Robert Charles; Marcotte, Donald R. – Journal of Educational Technology Systems, 1994
Discusses integrated learning systems (ILSs) and describes a study that considered the degree of linear relationship between time spent on the ILS and outcome achievement on ninth-grade algebra students. The effects of previous math and verbal achievement and sex differences are explored, and measurement instruments are described. (Contains 14…
