The scales of the Self-Directed Search (SDS) correlate with the scales of the Kuder, the Thurstone Temperament Schedule, the Bennett Mechanical Comprehension Test, and the Minnesota Paper Form Board in predictable ways across three small samples of high school students. So as to compare the results of the WISC and WISC-R, instruments were administered to 58 children. All IQs were significantly higher on the WISC, with the Performance difference being greater than the verbal difference. Regression equations were obtained to predict WISC-R IQs from WISC scores. Age changes in categorization and conceptual styles were studied using an object-sorting task in 276 subjects representing seven age groups. Significant age effects were found in the analysis of variance for four of six measures; there were no significant sex or interaction effects. (Author)

Using 23 items from the Shneidman questionnaire, views of three groups of elderly persons concerning death and dying were examined and compared with views of a national sample of Psychology Today readers surveyed by Shneidman. A 31-item questionnaire was given to 199 students, 20 of whom were found to have histories of previous suicide attempts. Crockett, Bruce K.; And Others – Psychology in the Schools, 1976
The Metropolitan Achievement Test (MAT) was administered to 35 original Head-Start children three to four years after initial WPPSI testing. WPPSI Verbal IQ did not correlate significantly with any of the subject areas of the MAT, while Performance IQ correlated only moderately with mathematical components of the MAT (r = .42 - .52). The relationships between Guilford-Zimmerman Temperament Survey raw scores and supervisor and peer rankings of competency were explored for master's degree practicum counselors. Overall, the scales correlated significantly better with supervisor rankings than with peer rankings for both sexes. (Author)
