Margolis, Howard – Psychology in the Schools, 1976
Correlation coefficients were obtained between the Kindergarten Auditory Screening Test (KAST), the Metropolitan Readiness Test (MRT), and the Gates MacGinitie Reading Tests, Primary Form (GMRT). Neither the coefficients obtained nor an examination of extreme groups indicated that the KAST was an effective predictor of reading disability. (Author)

To assess two group models being developed in the Mental Health Study Center, NIMH, this paper compares HIM data from these models with norms from a previous study. Significant differences between 200 counseling seekers and 200 nonseekers were obtained on nine of the 11 Mooney Problem Check List areas. An item analysis over four additional samples yielded a scale of 42 items of potential predictive usefulness. Students who eventually become clients differ substantially from their nonclient peers.
