Dean, Raymond S. – Journal of School Psychology, 1977
The most striking aspect of this study is that the PIAT, designed and standardized for children in the educational mainstream, is as applicable to Mexican-American children as to their Anglo counterparts. Consequently, the PIAT may be advantageous as a screening instrument with this culturally specific population. (Author)

Fuchs, Douglas; And Others – American Educational Research Journal, 1985
The effects of examiner unfamiliarity on the test performance of language handicapped and nonhandicapped preschoolers and school-age children are explored. Neidermeyer, Fred C.; Sullivan, Howard J. – Journal of Educational Measurement, 1972
Results of the study indicate that the 3-choice, selected-response tests often utilized in programs of this type do not provide an accurate indication of end-of-year achievement for many children, and their continued use is not recommended. (Authors)

Rapp, M. L.; Haggart, S. A. – 1972
The conceptual basis for using individual expectancy scores as a means for determining the success of instruction is presented. An expected gain score is computed for each student, based on a pretest score. The assumption is made that without a change in the learning environment the student will continue to gain at his previous average rate. The…
