Compared two forms of client-centered job placement at a senior center. Results showed after a 12-week follow-up period, 89 percent of participants in the job club, a group-based mutual help program, were employed, compared to 25 percent of those using a job-seekers manual. (Author/ABL)

Compared the health care used by employed and retired elderly persons in Canada. Findings indicated that ambulatory physician visitation of both groups is similar, and the greater prevalence of serious conditions among the retired is associated with their higher hospitalization rates rather than with their retirement status.
