Studied racial identity attitudes derived from Cross's racial identity model and respondents' racial self-designations used to predict Black college students' preferences for Black and White counselors. Examined the hypothesis that positive self-involving and self-disclosing counselor responses would be rated more favorably by college student subjects (N=214) than negative self-involving and self-disclosing counselor responses.
