Analyzed students' (N=282) responses to questions about personal habits and roommate and residence hall preferences, to explore the influence of habit variables on roommate compatibility. Members of a commune and members of a fraternity and a sorority were compared on measures of attitude and behavior. As predicted, commune residents demonstrated significantly more favorable attitudes toward non-traditional values.
