Tests the associations of sports ideology with sexist and antihomosexual attitudes in a sample of 304 college students. It was found that sports ideology is positively associated with sexist and antihomosexual attitudes but only among males. Examines the plausibility of sexual orientation as a meaningful social category and the implications of utilizing such a category. Reports that gay men were rated more favorably on the adjective rating scale.
