It appears that successful forestry students are active, outdoor types, and masculine in their interests. They are stable and intellectually competent, especially quantitatively, and if they take their preforestry in the university setting in which they ultimately do their forestry training, they are more likely to meet with success than if they transfer to a forestry program from a junior college.
